Hutsuls are associated with the Carpathians, and the Carpathians with Hutsuls. It is an inseparable tandem. Sheshory is a large Hutsul village in Kosiv district. It is located at an altitude of 600m above sea level and stretches for 9km along the bed of a mountain river. It is considered the birthplace of the song "Hutsulka Ksenia", which is about the daughter of a Sheshory forester.
The Sheshory have preserved Hutsul musical folklore and numerous crafts. Carving, weaving, and quilting flourish here. The local high school has a museum where you can see amazing examples of folk art: Easter eggs, embroidery, carpets, trembitas...
Sheshory lies on the banks of the Pistynka River. This river is famous for its waterfalls. The Sheshory Hook is one of the most beautiful Carpathian waterfalls. Its other name is Silver Falls. These are three picturesque cascades that drop water from a height of 5 metres. To understand why the cascades are called the Silver Falls, you should admire them in winter, when the stream is frozen with ice growths. There is a mineral spring near the waterfall.
Not far from the village is the Lebedyn tract. In the tract, at an altitude of 650m above sea level, surrounded by beech forests, there is a beautiful lake with the same name - Lebedyn. The name of the lake is associated with the legend of two lovers who joined in its waters like swans. The story is tragic because their parents were against their marriage. The exact depth of the lake has not been established, but it is believed to be up to 28 metres.
